Contrary to popular belief, there's not just one way to wrap Christmas gifts. Everyone thinks you just cut the paper, wrap it around the present and tape. Just because it's always been done that way doesn't mean there aren't plenty of other ways to do it. Making it fun and exciting too!
1) Everyone's seen the gift bags. All sorts of them from the ones that advertise a store name all the way down to ones that look like gift wrapping. Plain paper bags with punches of color using your wrapping paper is a unique idea.
3) This one is an oldie but a goody. If you want to have some fun, and if you have a small gift, put it in a box that fits, then wrap it. Wrap it in a larger box after. And so on, through 3 or 4 more boxes. Having that anxious person who is always so eager to open their gifts will have to take their time opening their present. Not only is it a little frustrating for them, but everyone who catches on to what they're having to do will get a kick out of it.
4) Instead of handing out all the presents, especially if you have a very special present you want to give, send them on a "quest". Start off with a Christmas card that shows a picture of their present. Once they have opened the card, you can leave another clue as to where either the present or another card is located. You can string that out as long as you want, even making them go out and drive around town if you can put cards in places they won't be found and disrupt the trail.
5) And last, but not least, if you have a really small present like a ring, wad it up in a piece of gift wrap and put it in a box with a lot of other wadded up pieces of gift wrap. That way, they'll have to un-wad piece after piece until they get to their present.
You can use any combination of the above to be truly creative, or truly frustrating, depending on how much fun you want to have with your gift giving processes. Let's face it, one of the key elements of Christmas is to have fun. And what better way to have fun than to be totally different when it comes to wrapping presents?
The right Christmas gift wrap is like the cherry on top of the sundae. For
